Don Emilio’s Mexican Restaurant is named after my grandfather Emilio Dally.  He and my grandmother Aurora Dally along with their two daughters moved from Laredo Mexico and raised their family in San Antonio, TX.  Our family grew up enjoying traditional Mexican meals at my grandparents’ home every weekend.  The thing I remember the most, is the smell of the mesquite wood burning while my grandfather cooked fajitas on his homemade grill. That’s where I learned the importance of adding love to your cooking so the food tastes better. (PS. Plus a little bit of beer, haha)

I loved watching my grandma make home made tortillas and tamales.  She would also pick fresh chile piquin from her garden and make home made salsas ground in her molcajete.  During the holidays, we couldn’t wait to get cookies and desserts baked by my grandpa.  He would always make baskets of desserts and give to the neighbors’ kids.

It has always been a dream of mine to have a restaurant with great food and a good family feeling.  I wanted to have the memories of those days at my grandparents’ house be the inspiration for my restaurant named after my grandpa Emilio, and located in the city of Aurora which happens to be my grandma’s name also.

At Don Emilio’s we strive to offer great food and outstanding service.  We want to share with everyone the food we have enjoyed for generations. Don Emilio’s is where you come as guests and leave as family.

Sincerely,

Victor Emil Villarreal
